All I want for my birthday this year
It’s my birthday in about a week and a half, and the only thing I really want is something no one can seem to get me: my name in a TLD (see: roj.as). I’ve been trying to get blo.ck for years now, but those guys in the Cook Islands just won’t lend a hand. Earlier this year in a moment of inspiration I realized I might also go for ry.an, but the University of the Netherlands Antilles weren’t too hot on foreigners buying domains, even for private, non-commercial purposes. Hell, I can’t even get ryanblock.com because it was cybersquatted out from under my nose back from before I was using my name in the my domain. So, anyone in the Cook Islands or Netherlands Antilles want to do me a big favor? I would be so obliged you wouldn’t even know — drop a line, why don’t you?

that’s ALL you want for your birthday?! @*#&@#!
I feel you on the Netherlands Antilles. I wanted inm.an, but it was a no go. The admin guy never checks his mail over there either. I think we need to band together on this one and bribe this guy or something…
Yeah, I actually got the admin at NA, but he wasn\’t too receptive. I think a bribe would be a good idea. Or perhaps setting up \”residency\” there, heh.
why dont you try this call on engadget, im sure the readers wouldnt mind espically if someone else wrote it up or something
[...] Over at Ryan Block's blog, I think he's hit the nail on the head. I am dying to get my hands on the domain name http://inm.an, but the Netherlands Antilles isn't so easily persuaded. So, I need some of our european brethren to get me the hook-up. Hell, while you're at it, let ryan know too. [...]
Don’t worry, I want http://r.an and I doubt they will every let me, but we would all rent a home over there, and then all register and address as residents. After getting the domain, but terminate the residency.
