Time Warner Cable goes public
Internal memo today about “the great news that Time Warner Cable became a public company“. Apparently Time Warner will still own 84% of TWC’s public offering, which is well and good, but without sounding like too much of an infighting ass, Time Warner Cable is possibly one of the worst service businesses I’ve ever personally had the displeasure of using. Pete and I constantly bag on it, and for good reason — it’s just got such a long way to go. Now, I’m not some huge Comcast fan or everything, but I’ll definitely say that in the 8 months I’ve been in SF (has it really been that long?) I haven’t ever had even a slight bit of trouble with the cable, besides their annoying reluctance to get me going with CableCARD. Still, that’s far, far more than I can say for TWC, which “serviced” — and I use that term lightly — no less than four of my former New York residences.
P.S. -Yeah, I’ve been way out of it this week thanks to a bout of the flu. It’s a strange thing being so dehydrated your finger loses the necessary capacitance to mouse on a trackpad!

How about the fact that they have one office south of 200th street in Manhattan. One office! The wait there was over two hours long both times that I’ve gone.
What a joke.
that makes 3 of us. many times they’ve screwed with my interweb connection to the point where i had to go to a TW store and replace a defective modem 3 times. then the digital cable reception always gets pixelated at night making it hard for me to watch ‘no reservations’. and DONT even get me started on their tech support…that’s about as joyful as bieng in line at the DMV…which is as joyful as getting punched in the face…er..well, you get the point.
p.s. hope you feel better man
