Friday novelties
Things getting me stoked (or at least piquing my interest) this week, in no particular order:
- The earth-shattering revelation that Aquafina (and Dasani) are both tap water. And yet they both still taste like ass.
- Did someone say something about a Lost video game? Oh, there’s footage, too. Still, given the nature of the show, I can’t possibly see how this game won’t be a total suckfest.
- Salon praises editors, totally doesn’t understand blogging and what tomorrow’s writers and editors are doing today.
- My pals Om and Joyce launch a new show. The launch party was a veritable who’s who of tech movers and shakers. Still not sure how I got invited!
- Speaking of Lost, Rex is going apeshit over Monstrous / Cloverfield, or whatever the next JJ Abrams project is going to be called. My hope: they make it a 20 short that ends before they actually show the monster. It’s always better before the reveal.
- Pete and Jill’s wedding this weekend.
I'm an editor and technology critic in the midst of founding a new web startup:

I hope Rojas’ wedding goes well, especially without his dad.
I thought it was common knowledge those two waters were nothing more than standard factory water from Coke and Pepsi plants. As Lewis Black said, “Dasani is the water that wasn’t good enough to make it into Coca-Cola… and that’s not funny… because… it’s probably true!”
I’ve always just assumed it was distilled tap water (+ “minerals+, i.e. salt), but this kind of settles the debate.
