Qore is go!
Veronica’s big, long awaited, heretofore secret project Qore launched for download last night — we grabbed it this morning to see how the final version looks. Very hot. And I’m not just saying that, because, well, you know. Also, I’m declaring myself the first (ok, maybe second) to have unearthed the Qore easter egg: press L2 from the home screen and you get taken to a mini-game called Death Orb. More from Joystiq and PS3 Fanboy, and Veronica; Death Orb shot after the break.

I'm an editor and technology critic in the midst of founding a new web startup:

Very cool. How long before someone finds a way to rip these shows from their PS3 and makes it available for the non-PS3′ers? :0)
I am trying to remember which angle she took on the PS3 while she was at BOL: the “gloom and doom, might as well get to work on the PS4″ or the “it will turn around” approach.
I don’t know, but both points of view are correct. Early on the PS3 was bombing — Stringer even said so at D, mentioning that for year one, PS3 was “on life support.” Thankfully for Sony, though, with HD DVD backing down and the halfway decent lineup of games they’ve got brewing for 2008, the console seems to be bouncing back.
Very true, and I think it will eventually come to dominate among the current crop. So, good move for Veronica to get on board now. Of course, for you it is yet another area of potential conflicts to disclaim (even where no conflicts actually exist). It must get tiring to always have to consider that angle, but I guess it comes with the journalism territory.
There is nothing for me to consider in terms of conflict of interest. Qore is done solely by Future, which is an independent media company. Veronica is not employed, paid, or given instruction by Sony.
Yes, exactly, no actual conflict (as Veronica pointed out with regard to Tekzilla). But people are stupid, and looking for such things, and spiteful, etc. They see Veronica on a show exclusive to the PS3 (and, thus, tied to the success of the PS3 as a platform at least) and, if they are so inclined, could get snarky. But, you are probably right, you can’t worry about such folks.
I really do wish her huge success with this venture.
2.99 an episode?? I love Veronica but come on!! Thats highway robbery!
